As much as we hate to say this about any manager, Garry Monk’s position has to be under serious consideration at Sheffield Wednesday.
The boss has overseen just two wins in the Owls’ previous 14 league games, and that poor run of form has seen them drop into the bottom half of the table.
The Steel City outfit had a real platform to build something this season after losing just three of 18 matches under Steve Bruce at the back end of last season.
Unfortunately, they’ve not been able to do anything with their talented crop of players, and Dejphon Chansiri may have to do one thing to avoid the same eventuality happening next season.

At the end of the day, Wednesday still have that core of players that performed so well under Bruce, albeit they’re all a year older.
Next term could be the last chance for some of these players to taste glory at Hillsborough as the likes of Tom Lees, Fernando Forestieri, Barry Bannan and Kieran Lee will all be in their 30s.
The club only really need a few additions to get themselves in contention again, but trusting Monk with the task of plugging holes in a squad is a risk.
The manager hasn’t got much experience in building teams, his average tenure in a job is just one year, and he simply isn’t seasoned enough in the transfer window.
Combine that with the fact that he’s not getting much out of this team at the moment, and it makes sense for the owner to let him go before the start of next season.
If Monk stays and the fortunes don’t change, Wednesday are in trouble of completely wasting what is potentially the last hurrah of the cohort of players that took the club to two playoff campaigns back in 2015/16 and 2016/17.
We don’t like to say that anyone should lose their job, but keeping Monk at the club is a bigger risk than sacking him at this moment in time.
In other news, Sheffield Wednesday again have to ponder this player’s future.
